Formed in 2000, BEAR Scotland is an alliance of three highly successful organisations who are prominent in the United Kingdom roads sector – Vinci, Jacobs and Breedon – joining together to provide trunk road network management and maintenance solutions to Transport Scotland. Collectively these organisations span the world, allowing us to call on the global strength and expertise of our shareholders where required. Since 2000 we have been involved in five generations of Transport Scotland Trunk Road Operating Company contracts covering various areas of Scotland and are presently responsible for approximately 60% of Scotland’s trunk road network. This includes the Northwest and Southeast Scottish Trunk Road Units. This role is a full time position to be based in Perth or South Queensferry. We are seeking a dynamic, people centric and detail-oriented Recruitment and Employee Experience Specialist to join our HR team. This role is pivotal in attracting and retaining top talent and ensuring a positive and engaging experience for our employees throughout their career journey with us. The ideal candidate will have a passion for people, a keen eye for talent, and a commitment to fostering a supportive engaging and inclusive workplace culture. Key Responsibilities: Recruitment: Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies to attract high-quality candidates. Manage the full recruitment cycle, including job postings, screening, interviewing, and onboarding. Collaborate with hiring managers to understand their staffing needs and provide guidance on best practices. Utilise various sourcing methods, including social media, job boards, and networking events, to identify potential candidates. Support managers with recruitment and selection skills ensuring objective and fair hiring practices Maintain a talent pipeline for future hiring needs and identify trends in the marketplace including salary and benefits insights Use cost effective salary and benefits benchmarking methodology Report on attraction and turnover trends and highlight reasons for any voluntary turnover. Play a key role in developing the employer brand to attract talent. Prioritise graduate recruitment and build partnerships with educational institutions Employee Experience: Design and execute initiatives to enhance employee engagement and satisfaction. Ensure that the onboarding process for new starts is effective with regular check in’s on how employees are doing. Conduct regular surveys and feedback sessions to gauge employee sentiment and identify areas for improvement. Work with the HR team to develop and manage employee recognition programmes to celebrate achievements and milestones. Work with the training and development team to coordinate and facilitate training and development programs to support employee growth. Act as a point of contact for employee concerns and provide support in resolving issues. Undertake periodic market reviews on best practice employee experience initiatives. HR Administration: Maintain accurate and up-to-date recruitment data that is supported by insights and trends Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures. Support HR projects and initiatives as needed. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. Proven experience in recruitment and employee engagement. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Proficiency in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent organisational and time management skills. Why BEAR?
