Job summary
Looking for a 4-5 session salaried maternity cover GP at St Johns Way Medical Centre for a fixed term - starting after June 2024.
We are also looking for a 3 session salariedmaternity cover GP to start after July 2024 for a fixed term.
We are a friendly, forward-thinking team, committed to training, and focused on giving the best possible care to our diverse patient population. We currently have 7 salaried GPs and 4 partners working closely together alongside a diverse multidisciplinary clinical team.
The pandemic stretched our practice in new and challenging ways, and we are proud to have navigated through it and to be taking the best of what we've learnt by embracing positive technological innovations and a doctor led triage model of care.

Main duties of the job
Undertake all the duties associated with the role of a General Practitioner required by the GMS contract
Liaise with other health care professionals when required
Take an active role and contribute to weekly practice meetings
Attend any practice training sessions when not on leave annual Basic Life Support
Stay up to date with medical training in line with your Personal Development Plan
Contribute to the development and improvement of the practice
Take on Lead responsibilities in any agreed area of practice management and/or clinical management
Support and contribute to the development of practice clinical procedures and protocols - carrying out clinical audits as appropriate
Completion of reports for solicitors, insurance companies and others
Accurate and timely input of patient data onto the clinical system
Act in a way that protects the confidentiality of patients and maintains the integrity of the patient/practice relationship
Take responsibility for self-care and wellbeing

RESPONSIBILITIES
13. In accordance with the practice timetable, as agreed, the post-holder will make themselves available to undertake a variety of duties, including surgery consultations and e-consult, telephone triage / consultations and queries, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, other paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion.
14. Assessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems
15. Developing care plans for health in consultation with patients and in line with current practice disease management protocols
16. Admitting or discharging patients to and from the caseload and referring to other care providers as appropriate
17. Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards
18. Collecting data for audit purposes
19. In general, the post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care
Person Specification
Qualifications
Essential
20. A medical practitioner whose name is included in the General Practitioner Register under article 10 of the General and Specialist Medical Practice Order 2003.
21. Not subject to suspension under section 41A of the Medical Act 1983.
22. Qualified General Practitioner (completed certificate of Completion of Training CCT)
23. Currently on a performers list and not suspended from that list or from the medical register
24. DBS clearance
25. Have had an annual NHS appraisal
26. Have medical indemnity insurance cover for the sessions required
Desirable
27. Evidence of further postgraduate educational activities in relevant fields
28. MRCGP or equivalent
