We are looking for a caring, reliable and fun Personal Assistant (PA) to support a friendly 19-year-old with additional needs. Contract Type Part Time Permanent. Roles and Responsibilities: The PA will support him both at home and in the community. Main responsibilities include:
* Safety and mobility support especially on stairs, out and about in the community, crossing roads.
* General supervision during community activities.
* Support with meals (he can feed himself and can make toast).
* Personal Care help with washing/drying, dressing, shoes, socks. Minimal assistance required with toileting.
* Encouragement, communication support and engaging in favourite activities.
* Awareness of epilepsy and seizure needs (seizures typically occur in sleep, a couple of times a month). Friendly, patient, and confident.
* Someone with a sense of humour who can engage and have fun.
* Calm, supportive, and attentive to safety.
* Comfortable supporting personal care.
* Happy to join in with his interests.
* A driver (preferred).
* Non-smoker.
Required Training
* Basic First Aid.
* Understanding of seizures/epilepsy.
* Epilepsy training preferred (can be provided).

Employer Gender: Male. Hourly Rate: £12.60. Hours Per Week: 36. Days/nights respite annually via direct payment. How will the hours be used: 36 days/nights respite annually (flexible) funded via Direct Payments. Employer requires transport? Yes.
About Me
He has global developmental delay and he loves chatting, playing with toys (especially dinosaurs) and watching films of all genres from Disney and Jurassic World through to musical, thrillers and comedies. He is cheerful, cheeky with a good sense of humour and enjoys positive interaction. He particularly likes talking about his dinosaurs and is full of knowledge about them!
My Household
Employer requires transport? Yes. He lives with two friendly dogs (a Labrador and a Bull Lurcher) and a kitten. No pet care required. PA is non-smoker. No smoking during work hours.
