Principal Bid Manager (Strategic Highways)
We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Bid Manager to join our Transport Infrastructure Work Winning Team in the role of Principal Bid Manager (Strategic Highways).
What you’ll do
* Manage the progress of bids, ensuring activities align with the bid programme and are clearly communicated to all stakeholders.
* Guide the production of high‑quality technical and commercial bid documentation in accordance with agreed strategies.
* Facilitate the creation of operational solutions and commercial strategies to drive continuous improvement and competitiveness.
* Implement and manage protocols for communication and document management throughout the bid process.
* Maintain proactive client communications and respond promptly to clarifications.
* Prepare internal approval papers and manage the bid budget, including risk and opportunity assessments.
* Keep bid tools and databases updated, contributing to relevant reports as needed.
* Conduct document reviews, consolidate feedback, and implement improvements.
* Support and mentor other Bid Managers and Leads, including facilitating bid workshops and training for operational and work‑winning staff.

Required skills and experience
* Strong organisational skills.
* Comprehensive knowledge of corporate governance.
* Previous experience of bid managing National Highways.
