Hayley 24/7 Engineering is a fast and effective mechanical engineering solutions provider, supporting customers across a wide range of industrial sectors.
We specialise in the service, repair and overhaul of mechanical and electro/mechanical rotating equipment, delivering reliable, high-quality solutions to keep industry moving.
We are recruiting for an experienced Senior Engineering Estimator to support and strengthen our Dudley-based operations team.
This is a key commercial role, responsible for producing accurate, competitive, and commercially sound estimates across our engineering services business.
Working closely with operations, engineering, and commercial colleagues, you will lead the estimating process from initial enquiry through to final submission, helping shape bid strategy and supporting the continued growth of the business.
This role will suit an experienced estimator who is commercially aware, technically confident, and comfortable managing multiple bids in a fast-paced service environment.
As our Senior Estimator you will be responsible for:
Leading the full estimating lifecycle for tenders, bids, and negotiated works involving industrial pumps, gearboxes, mechanical and electrical rotating equipment, machining, fabrication, and site-based activities
Reviewing drawings, specifications, and technical documentation to build accurate and robust cost estimates
Producing detailed cost breakdowns covering labour, materials, subcontractors, equipment, and overheads
Conducting risk and opportunity assessments and providing informed commercial recommendations
Liaising with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain and evaluate competitive quotations
Collaborating closely with project managers, engineers, and commercial teams to ensure estimates reflect realistic delivery methods
Supporting bid/no-bid decisions through clear presentation of estimates and assumptions
Contributing to value engineering initiatives and identifying cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or delivery
Providing support, guidance, and mentoring to junior estimators as required
Ensuring all estimating activities comply with company procedures, industry standards, and client requirements
This role offers scope for development, and additional responsibilities may be introduced as the business continues to grow.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will be a self-starter with a strong estimating background within an engineering services or industrial maintenance environment.

Strong knowledge of mechanical and electro/mechanical equipment, repair methodologies, and service-based engineering activities
Excellent numerical ability with strong attention to detail and commercial judgement
Advanced Excel skills and experience with cost modelling and data analysis
The ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously and work effectively to tight deadlines
Strong communication skills and the confidence to engage with stakeholders at all levels
Experience mentoring or supporting other estimators (desirable)
