We have an exciting opportunity for a Housing Options Manager to lead our Housing Options service, fulfilling statutory homelessness duties on behalf of Bromsgrove District Council under the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017.
The Role
This is a pivotal role where you’ll ensure the effective prevention, assessment, and relief of homelessness, while driving continuous improvement and leading a dynamic, customer-focused team.
You will:
* Provide housing and homelessness advice to a diverse range of customers, including those with complex needs and vulnerabilities.
* Oversee complex cases, ensuring timely and effective resolutions, including arranging emergency accommodation when required.
* Lead strategies to prevent homelessness through early intervention and strong partnership working.
* Manage the delivery of the homelessness contract, meeting all statutory obligations and performance targets.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with Bromsgrove District Council, partner agencies, and support services, representing bdht at local and national forums.
About You
We’re looking for a housing professional who is:
* Experienced in a customer-facing role with a solid understanding of the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017 and related legislation.
* Knowledgeable about safeguarding and supporting vulnerable customers, with a commitment to equality and diversity.
* Skilled in communication and negotiation, able to manage complex cases and make sound decisions under pressure.
* Experienced in partnership working and confident in building collaborative relationships.
* Leadership experience in housing options or homelessness services would be an advantage.
