The Role
We are seeking a Cloud Devops Engineer to work on a Greenfield Cloud Enablement Project. This will be on a permanent basis via the Robert Walters Consultancy and your first assignment will be at JP Morgan in Glasgow. For this role, we are seeking candidates preferably with GCP experience but will also consider AWS and Azure.
What You'll Do
* Deliver creative software solutions through design, development, and advanced technical troubleshooting, applying innovative thinking to solve or decompose complex problems
* Develop secure, high-quality production code and perform code reviews, debugging, and quality assurance on peer contributions
* Identify and implement opportunities to eliminate, streamline, or automate recurring issues to enhance the stability and reliability of applications and systems
* Participate in vendor, startup, and internal evaluation sessions to assess architectural designs, technical capabilities, and fit within existing systems and information architecture
* Engage in software engineering communities of practice to promote awareness, adoption, and effective use of emerging and leading-edge technologies
* Contribute to a team culture centered on diversity, inclusion, respect, and equitable opportunity
What You Bring
* Experience working with public cloud platforms (GCP preferred; Azure or AWS also acceptable)
* Experience working within large, enterprise-scale organizations
* Strong experience with DevOps practices, tooling, and automation
* Hands-on expertise with Infrastructure as Code solutions, particularly Terraform
* Strong programming capability in either Java or Python
