Overview has a new and exciting opportunity for a Product Applications Engineer to join the R&D team. This role will work closely with teams across the Business, including BD, Quality and Operations, applying their knowledge of Drives, controls and sensors to support the development of new applications. This role will be the focal point for technical support to customers for our product ranges. This role will be key in providing feedback from customers to enhance the development of new and existing products and systems. You would be great for this role if you have a background in sensor systems/cameras and/or have experience in an electronics and software environment. To be successful in this role, you will need to have excellent communication skills, be confident working with customers and colleagues of all levels and have a passion for technology and innovation. Key Responsibilities Provide excellent support to our customers for our range of Sensor Systems, Servo-drives and sensor positioning systems. Escalate customer queries to the R&D department for more involved issues as required and champion the resolution of such queries in-house. Develop new applications for our products in support of potential customers. Support the development of new products and systems by evaluating them and suggesting improvements Support the production of supporting technical documentation for our products. Support Business Development in providing technical solutions for potential customers and in demonstrating and displaying our products. Ensure that information gleaned from supporting customers is fed back to the R&D and QA Teams. Identify potential business opportunities for the Business Development Team. Support the identification and rectification of quality issues. Skills & Qualifications Degree (or equivalent) in an engineering discipline or technical subject. Strong cross-functional engineering knowledge and experience working across the business. Excellent communicator who has had experience working in a customer-facing role, in a multi-disciplinary engineering team. Proven experience designing or supporting products in the following domains: BLDC Drives Video Systems Sensor Systems Experience working with; electro-mechanical systems Software-controlled systems communications protocols. An understanding of, or interest in, AI, communications protocols, Fault-Finding electronic Systems, security & surveillance.
