We're recruiting a Housing Works Supervisor to join our Housing Maintenance and Investment team at Milton Keynes City Council. Our colleagues help us deliver decent homes, maintain safe buildings and make sure residents receive high quality, well managed housing services across the city. You'll play an important role in supporting our Housing Maintenance and Investment work. You'll assess and supervise repair projects, support contractor relationships and help to deliver safe, well maintained homes that meet building regulations and housing standards.
Responsibilities
* Assess and supervise repair work, projects and programmes so they meet agreed timescales, budgets and contract requirements.
* Make sure maintenance and planned works meet quality standards, building regulations, fire safety requirements and housing health and safety expectations.
* Support strong working relationships with contractors to deliver value for money and continuous improvement.
* Carry out site visits, create specifications and check materials to ensure work stays on track.
* Monitor contractor performance and resolve technical issues as they arise.
* Prepare clear project information, reports and documentation for colleagues, tenants and partners.
* Experienced in supervising and monitoring construction or housing‑related contractors.
* Confident engaging with tenants, contractors and colleagues to solve problems and put things right.
* Able to manage projects, budgets and resources with a practical, hands‑on approach.
* Knowledgeable about the Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS), building regulations, fire safety and housing compliance.
* Qualified at a senior level in engineering, construction, safety or housing.
* Able to travel to sites, with a driving licence or the ability to meet this requirement in another way.
Qualifications
* Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle required. Proof of licence and vehicle insurance, including business use cover, must be provided.
