We are working with an established engineering consultancy in Colchester who are currently seeking a Graduate Structural Engineer with a minimum of 2years' UK consultancy experience to join its growing team.
This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of structural designs across a range of projects, contributing innovative and practical solutions while working collaboratively with architects, contractors and fellow engineers. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing structural calculations and drawings, preparing building control submissions, and supporting project delivery from concept through to completion.
The position involves undertaking structural analysis using both hand calculations and industry-standard design software, assisting with specifications and technical documentation, and attending site visits to monitor progress and ensure compliance with approved designs. There will also be involvement in inspecting existing structures, advising on remedial works where required, and liaising closely with clients and project stakeholders to maintain strong working relationships.
Applicants should hold a degree in Civil or Structural Engineering and demonstrate a solid understanding of structural principles and material behaviour, including steel, timber and masonry.
Experience with AutoCAD and/or Revit would be advantageous.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, the ability to manage workload effectively, and a proactive, solutions-focused approach are essential.
