The Role:
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Early Years Room Leader to join our dedicated team. As a Room Leader, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management and leadership of a specific age-group room, ensuring the delivery of high-quality early years provision aligned with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). You will inspire and guide your team, create engaging learning experiences, and ensure the safety and well-being of all children in your care.
What You'll Be Doing:
* Room Leadership & Management:
* Lead, motivate, and manage a team of Early Years Practitioners within your designated room.
* Oversee daily operations, ensuring smooth transitions and routines.
* Conduct regular supervision and support sessions for your team members.
* Facilitate positive team dynamics and collaborative working.
* Curriculum & Learning Environment:
* Plan, implement, and evaluate a rich and stimulating EYFS-based curriculum that meets the individual needs of all children.
* Create an organised, inviting, and stimulating learning environment that promotes independence, exploration, and discovery.
* Monitor and review children's progress, maintaining accurate observations and learning journeys.
* Child Development & Welfare:
* Ensure the highest standards of care, welfare, and safeguarding for all children in the room, adhering strictly to policies and procedures.
* Support children's personal, social, emotional, physical, and intellectual development.
* Manage challenging behaviour positively and effectively.
* Ensure all dietary needs, allergies, and intolerances are properly managed and clearly communicated.
* Parent & Carer Partnership:
* Develop and maintain strong, positive relationships with parents and carers, providing regular feedback on their child's progress and daily activities.
* Support parent involvement in the nursery and their child's learning journey.
* Health & Safety:
* Ensure the room environment is safe, hygienic, and well-maintained.
* Comply with all health and safety regulations, including COSHH, and internal nursery policies.
What We're Looking For:
* Essential:
* Full and relevant Level 3 (or higher) qualification in Early Years Education.
* A minimum of two years of demonstrable experience working as an Early Years Practitioner or in a senior role within an Early Years setting (preschool/nursery).
* In-depth knowledge and practical application of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
* Up-to-date knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
* A proactive, organised, and child-centred approach to early years education.
* Strong team player with the ability to motivate and inspire others.
* Desirable:
* Jolly Phonics knowledge
* Experience with specific early years software/systems (e.g., Famly,).
* A commitment to continuous professional development.
