GSL Education are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive school in Derby. This is a fantastic opportunity for a proactive support professional who can help pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
In this role of SEN TA, you will:
* Assist individual pupils or small groups with their learning, tailored to their specific needs.
* Support teachers in delivering personalised learning programmes in line with pupils’ needs and targets.
* Help create an inclusive, supportive classroom environment where all pupils feel valued and able to succeed.
* Support pupils with social, emotional, and behavioural development, including those with ADHD, autism, or other additional needs.
* Observe, document, and provide feedback on pupils’ progress and wellbeing.
* Collaborate closely with teachers, colleagues, and families to maximise pupil development.
* Maintain high standards of safeguarding, behaviour, and educational practice.
What You’ll Bring as a SEN TA:
* Previous experience supporting pupils with SEN in a school or similar setting.
* Knowledge of strategies to support pupils with autism, ADHD, SEMH, learning difficulties, or complex needs.
* Patience, empathy, and a passion for helping children succeed.
* Strong communication, organisational, and teamwork skills.
* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
