NRL’s manufacturing client is looking to recruit a Software Engineer/ Support to join their thriving business in Dunfermline. The client work a 4 day week with Fridays off! This is a full-time position working hours.
Their Department is looking for a Software Engineer/ Support to ensure that the organisation continues to deliver the software and hardware solutions required throughout the business.
About the role:
1. Development and support of SQL based database software that is used internally to scan and track products through the manufacturing process.
2. Design and maintain databases to hold all product serial number information for traceability.
3. Support users on the Javelin ERP system.
4. Write and maintain custom Crystal reports as requested by users.
5. Maintain essential IT operations, including operating systems, security tools, applications, servers, email systems, laptops, desktops, software, and hardware.
6. Handle business-critical IT tasks and system improvements.
7. Enable faster and smarter business processes that improve employee productivity.
8. Research and evaluate emerging technologies, hardware, and software.
Key Responsibilities:
9. Install, configure, and support software packages, both off-the-shelf and bespoke.
10. Write and debug C# .Net applications for Windows.
11. Implement applications and software upgrades along with troubleshooting any performance issues.
12. Specify, install, configure, and support PC hardware, printers, and phones.
13. Execute systems and network design, documentation, implementation, testing, and administration.
14. Ensure components meet business needs and work together seamlessly.
15. Train employees in using software and hardware providing technical support when needed.
Qualifications/Skills:
16. Experience with SQL Server relational database programming.
17. Experience in writing and debugging C# .NET applications for Windows.
18. Knowledge of operating systems, current equipment, technologies, enterprise backup and recovery procedures, and system performance monitoring tools.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of company information.
