An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Grants Officer to join the Grant Management Team within the Nuffield Department of Medicine (NDM), one of the largest and most research-intensive medical departments at the University of Oxford. This maternity cover post offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced research administration professional to contribute to the delivery of high‑quality grant management support across a diverse and complex research portfolio. Secondment opportunities for internal applicants will also be considered.
Responsibilities
* Prepare and cost grant applications.
* Ensure compliance with funder requirements.
* Oversee project finances and monitor expenditure.
* Support audits and reporting processes.
* Provide expert advice to grant holders and research teams.
* Manage competing priorities and build strong working relationships.
* Support the operational and financial management of complex research projects.
Qualifications
* Degree level education or equivalent professional experience.
* Knowledge of grants and/or contracts administration, ideally within higher education or a research environment.
* Experience in financial administration and ability to interpret and apply financial policies accurately.
* Excellent organisational and analytical skills.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Confidence working independently and collaboratively within a busy team environment.
* Experience using grant costing tools and financial systems such as Oracle or X5 is advantageous.
Benefits
* Full‑time fixed‑term contract until 31 December 2027.
* Salary (Standard Grade 6): £35,681 – £41,636 per annum, discretionary range up to £45,212 (pro rata).
* Inclusive of a pensionable Oxford University Weighting of £1,730 per year (pro rata).
* Internship and secondment opportunities may be available for internal applicants.
