GSL Education are seeking compassionate and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistants to work in Key Stage 1 classrooms within schools in Nottingham. Role Overview: As a SEND KS1 Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and SENCOs to support children with additional needs, helping them access the curriculum and develop essential skills in a safe and inclusive environment. You will play a vital role in encouraging independence, confidence, and positive behaviour. Responsibilities as a SEND KS1 Teaching Assistant: Provide one-to-one or small group support for pupils with SEND in KS1. Assist in adapting lesson materials to suit individual learning requirements. Support pupils’ social, emotional, and behavioural development. Help maintain a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere. Monitor and record pupil progress, providing feedback to the teaching team. Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support pupil wellbeing. Requirements for SEND KS1 Teaching Assistant: Experience working with children with special educational needs is highly desirable. Understanding of a range of SEND, such as autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and learning challenges. Patience, empathy, and a nurturing approach to supporting children. Strong communication and teamwork skills. A valid enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to apply.
