Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Assistant to provide high-quality support to patients in various healthcare settings. The ideal candidate will have experience in caregiving and a strong understanding of patient care protocols. This role involves assisting individuals with daily living activities, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being while fostering a supportive environment.
Responsibilities
* Provide personal care assistance to patients, including bathing, grooming, and dressing.
* Assist with mobility and transfers using equipment such as Hoyer lifts.
* Monitor and record vital signs, including blood pressure and heart rate.
* Support patients with medication administration as directed by healthcare professionals.
* Maintain accurate medical documentation and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
* Collaborate with nursing staff to develop and implement individualized care plans.
* Engage patients in meaningful activities that promote mental and emotional well-being.
* Ensure a clean and safe environment for all patients by following infection control protocols.
* Provide companionship and emotional support to patients and their families.
Experience
Candidates should possess experience in one or more of the following areas:
* Long-term care experience in assisted living or nursing home settings.
* Hospital experience, particularly in critical care, ICU, or emergency medicine.
* Working with individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia care expertise.
* Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and basic life support techniques.
* Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Cerner or eClinicalWorks.
* Experience in hospice care, geriatrics, pediatrics, or outpatient clinic settings is a plus.
