Technician - Fabrication & Welding32,414 - 34,9651.0 FTE / 35 Hours Based at Falkirk Campus Fixed-term to June 2026
STEM and Construction are looking for a Technician. Suitable candidates will ideally be educated to a minimum of HNC level in a related subject, although applicants with relevant industrial laboratory experience and a relevant NC or SVQ may be considered. We are looking for an adaptable and innovative individual with a passion for Welding, or general engineering disciplines such as Electrical or Mechanical. Ideally, you will have experience working in a similar technician role, or a role within industry as a Welder, Fabricator, Electrical or Mechanical engineer, or supporting roles related to these engineering disciplines.
Key duties include:Preparing workshops for practical classes Preparing materials and solutions, and setting up equipment for use in practical classesSetting up and carrying out demonstrations in the workshop to studentsMonitoring, restocking, and ordering consumables in the workshopWorking safely and adhering to Health and Safety protocolsEnsuring all equipment is working correctlyRetrieving and clearing away equipment and materialsSupporting the teaching staff and other technicians in the departmentThis role is predominantly workshop-based
