Overview

Job Title: Undergraduate Air Human Factors Engineer

Location: Warton/Samlesbury (Lancashire)

We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements; however for this role you will be expected to attend your site 3-5 days per week.

Length of contract: 12 months

Start date (dd Month Year): 22nd June 2026

Salary: £24,300

Note: Please be aware that many roles at BAE Systems are subject to both security and export control restrictions. These restrictions mean that factors such as your nationality, any nationalities you may have previously held, and your place of birth can restrict the roles you are eligible to perform within the organisation. All applicants must at a minimum achieve Baseline Personnel Security Standard. Many roles also require higher levels of National Security Vetting where applicants must typically have 5 to 10 years of continuous residency in the UK depending on the vetting level required for the role, to allow for meaningful security vetting checks.

Description (summary): This role is within the Air Team supporting the development and support of air systems and services across crewed and un-crewed platforms.


Responsibilities

* Human Factors (HF) engineers support the end-to-end design and development of our systems and services through the application of scientific knowledge and experience.
* Our aim is to optimise the interaction between the system and the end users enabling them to achieve their mission effectively and efficiently.
* You'll be part of our team of HF practitioners working across a variety of crewed and un-crewed platforms gathering assessment data, supporting the analysis and helping to document the results.
* You'll work with engineers from other areas of the business and gain a broad understanding of challenges of complex integrated Air systems.


Qualifications

* Minimum requirement: 2.2 in a Bachelor's or Master's degree in either Human Factors, Ergonomics, Engineering Product Design, UX, Psychology or STEM subject (or predicted to obtain).
