Overview
Tetra Tech RPS is looking for a Commercial Assistant to join our National Development & Infrastructure Planning Team. This hybrid role can be based in Birmingham, Abingdon or Cardiff.
Role: Commercial Assistant. Company: RPS (part of Tetra Tech). Location: Birmingham, Abingdon, or Cardiff (hybrid).
Key Responsibilities
* Work with the Commercial Manager to implement a strategy to improve and bring consistency to project financial performance.
* Collaborate with colleagues to generate greater business synergies.
* Contribute to monthly reports for the Commercial Manager and the Operations Director, with updates on significant successes, challenges and opportunities.
* Support monitoring and reviewing of project financial performance within the business unit and advise colleagues involved in the financial performance of projects.
* Develop the quality of project managers and discipline leads' approach to commercial matters, including improving knowledge and skills in project finances.
* Report to a Commercial Manager and contribute to business performance improvements that help achieve financial targets.
What You Will Do (Engagement, Clients, Processes)
* Foster a client-focused culture and promote deliverable solutions using appropriate communications channels and meetings.
* Promote the consultancy offer and, where possible, Tetra Tech wider services.
* Apply positive internal and external engagement and communications, working with the Commercial Manager, Operations Director and Finance team.
* Contribute to initiatives and ensure adherence to company processes, policies, and delegation of authority; drive continuous improvement across the business.
People and Skills
* Develop and maintain a culture that supports staff development and aims for attrition no greater than 10% per annum.
* Demonstrate understanding of company values and support a culture focused on people, health, wellbeing, and professional growth.
* Good interpersonal, influencing and negotiation skills; ability to develop commercial knowledge among Project Managers and discipline leads.
* Sound financial experience in a consultancy setting; strong communication, business acumen and ownership to achieve positive outcomes.
* Knowledge of legal requirements, policies, standards and guidance relevant to the business; commercially aware with a solid understanding of financial and economic drivers in the discipline.
