What skills and experience we're looking for
The Attendance Manager plays an important part in the smooth and efficient running of the student’s attendance, where you will monitor and track student attendance ensuring that registers are completed correctly. This is in addition to improving the quality of student attendance and following all policies and procedures regarding attendance as instructed by the GLT Head of Attendance.
Responsibilities
* Improving the quality of attendance
* Handling difficult situations and issues with sensitivity and calmness, ensuring awareness of safeguarding, data protection, and strict confidentiality at all times
* Ensuring the school’s attendance systems are rigorous, robust, and easy to use; reviewing, amending, and setting up procedures to streamline systems for maximum efficiency
* Working closely with the Safeguarding team, SENDCo, and Senior Leadership Team to prevent students from falling through gaps
* Developing and maintaining a culture of safety and vigilance in the school
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who holds:
* At least 5 GCSEs or equivalent, including at least a Grade C/4 in Maths and English
* NVQ Level 2 or higher in Administration, and previous administrative experience demonstrating strong organisational skills and good ICT knowledge
* Experience working with data and data management systems, and the ability to work on own initiative with minimal supervision
We want someone who has had experience working with or caring for children, with a commitment to ensuring a culture of vigilance and understanding. Experience working with children who present with anxiety and other social, emotional and mental health difficulties is required. The candidate must have a commitment to high standards, be able to conduct difficult conversations, and relate well to students to motivate them to achieve success.
