The practice welcomes applicants with some prior experience, although all levels will be considered. An interest in advanced diagnostics such as MRI would be particularly welcomed, but is by no means essential. About the Practice Established in 1986, the clinic has developed an excellent reputation as a dedicated equine practice with specialist expertise and facilities. Continued investment and development have seen it recognised as one of the most comprehensively equipped equine units in North East England, with the capacity to manage major equine incidents alongside first-class routine care. The practice is RCVS accredited and operates as an ambulatory service with a growing referral caseload and a modern 10-stable facility. Diagnostics are a key focus, with access to a standing MRI, scintigraphy and a fully equipped surgical theatre suite working alongside the general practice service. The Role • Salary up to £55,000 DOE o New graduate starting salary from £35,000, with a 6-month review • Full-time or part-time opportunities available • 1 in 6 out-of-hours rota (participation essential, with some flexibility) The Team The veterinary team consists of five experienced and collaborative vets with diverse interests including internal medicine, emergency medicine, imaging and elective surgery. The client base is primarily leisure horses alongside semi-professional and amateur competition horses. The vets are supported by skilled RVNs, VCAs and dedicated support staff, all working together to provide the highest level of service. Staff wellbeing is taken seriously, with initiatives such as a free monthly group Pilates session and a friendly run club helping to promote both physical and mental health. The Location Set in the stunning Tyne Valley, the area offers a fantastic balance of rural living and city access. Hadrian’s Wall runs through the heart of the region, while Newcastle city centre is just 30 minutes away, offering culture, shopping and nightlife. The practice covers a wide and varied area including Kielder Water and Forest, the largest man-made reservoir in the UK, as well as a beautiful stretch of coastline incorporating Whitley Bay and Tynemouth.
