Yard Operative– Hardwicke (£12.50- £13 per hour, rate dependent on experience)
We are looking for a hardworking and experienced Combi-trained FLT Driver to join our Yard Team to ensure our incoming and in house produced goods are, handled and stored in line with company procedures.
The Yard Operative position involves both physical and FLT movement handling of PVC-u, aluminium/steel profile and palletized goods, and the loading and unloading of vehicles, handling both loose and stillaged goods.

What is the job?
The Yard Operative will support the unloading of goods and loading of our products for onward delivery to our customers as well as ensuring the timely and accurate provision of documentation relating to booking product in and out. The successful candidate must have a valid RTITB or equivalent Combi-trained FLT licence and 3-5 years plus experience. You should also have previous experience in a Yard/Despatch environment. You must be comfortable acting as a Banksman, although full training will be given.
The team provides cover in the Yard from 8.00 to 18.00 Monday to Friday and this role will work 8.00 until with half hour for lunch).
Key Tasks Include:
· Loading / unloading lorries in a safe manner, verifying that the correct merchandise has been received, complying with H&S regulations to ensure a safe working environment at all times.
· Ensure the efficient and accurate handover/receipt of finished products from Production.
· Booking in stock externally and internally and completing relevant paperwork with a high degree of accuracy.
· Storage and identification of all goods in line with good working practices and company procedures.
· Vehicle marshalling and in and outbound schedule adherence
· Re-arranging stock in the yard, clearing out empty stillages.
· Assisting with stock checks as required.
· Ensuring the yard is organised so stock is stored effectively, maximising use of space and the ability to easily locate items for pickers.
· Actively maintain and improve housekeeping throughout working hours. Ensuring that stored goods are kept tidily and in the correct place. Using mechanical handling equipment where appropriate in accordance with company procedures.
To be successful in the role you will need the following:

* Experience of stock control and inventory management
* 7.5 & 18T shunting experience or willingness to be trained
* Clear understanding and appreciation of health and safety procedures
* Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.

* Clear communication skills.
