Hays are looking for an experienced, highly motivated, and flexible candidate for a Data Manager position within a school based in Blackburn. You will be joining the team during an exciting period of change and play a key role in the strategic development of the school.
The key elements of the role will include data analysis of pupil progress and achievement, overseeing the management of the school examinations alongside the Exams Officer, and organising the daily staff absence requirements.
This Blackburn Data Manager job is a full-time post, and both interim and permanent applicants can be considered. Although the role's preference is someone available for TTO + 3 weeks, there is scope for this to be a full-year position. Duties will include (but are not limited to):
1. Oversee the accuracy and integrity of the data held in the school’s system.
2. Manage system permissions and ensure staff have correct access to the system.
3. Coordinate and complete the school census.
4. Maintain behaviour management procedures and records, achievements, certificates, and associated reports.
5. Develop appropriate reports, school profiles, and other sources of information on performance.
6. Prepare strategic and operational data analysis for Curriculum Leaders.
7. Prepare a new academic year calendar in SIMS.
8. Promote students into the new academic year structure, incrementing their curriculum years.
9. Create and maintain admission groups for pre-admission students.
10. Update and apply periodic and casual changes to courses, teachers, and rooms.
11. Liaise with designated SLT members responsible for examinations, curriculum, and assessment.
12. Oversee and support the examinations team in providing an effective and efficient examinations system.
13. Provide analysis of examination results.
14. Manage the daily cover arrangements for absent staff to ensure all classes are covered.
15. Support a small team of Cover Supervisors, daily and regular supply staff, to ensure daily cover is delivered effectively and efficiently.
What we are looking for
* Experience of working in a data management role, ideally within an education environment.
* Experience of producing accurate data for reporting and assessment.
* Experience of managing and developing data systems, such as SIMS.
* Excellent IT skills, particularly within Word and Excel.
