We are looking to recruit a dynamic, creative and enthusiastic individual to work as Marketing and Digital Content Coordinator at Bangor University Students’ Union (Undeb Bangor).
Joining the organisation at a very exciting time of digital and online engagement the post holder will be responsible for ensuring the Students’ Union website and digital and social media platforms are relevant, responsive and engaging. They will lead on the development of digital communications and content. Educated to A Level standard (or equivalent), the post holder will be responsible for advising on the development of Students’ Union digital communications to ensure that all members are aware of the services and opportunities offered by the SU and will take a lead on the development of the Union online membership system and website and all digital platforms.
The ideal candidate for this role will have previous experience of coordinating effective digital campaigns and maximising exposure across a range of digital platforms, and experience of website content administration. The candidate would also have experience with designing of online and physical promotions, such as posters, logos and flyers. The role sits within a busy and dynamic department and therefore candidates must have excellent communication and organisational skills with an ability to be flexible and adaptable.
The ideal candidate will have experience of working within a diverse organisation with the ability to flourish in a fast-paced environment.
The successful candidate will be expected to commence this permanent role as soon as reasonably possible.
The ability to communicate through the medium of Welsh is essential for this post.
This role will be located on campus at Bangor. Through our Dynamic Working framework, there will also be the option to spend some time working remotely (although remaining in the UK) to support work life balance, which will be discussed further with candidates at interview.

Overview
* Work closely with the Communications and Marketing Lead on the Unions marketing communications and digital content work.
* Create engaging content across our website and social media platforms.
* Help deliver campaigns and events, ensure brand consistency, and collaborate with students and staff to bring the student voice to life.
* Manage and maintain our website, support design and print production.
* Supervise student staff.
Purpose of the Job
To deliver engaging, creative, and accessible digital communications and content across the Students’ Union’s platforms, ensuring the website and social media channels are relevant, responsive, and support campaigns, events, and student engagement.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Digital Content & Website
* Oversee and update the SU website, ensuring content is accurate, accessible and engaging.
* Create and publish digital content, including video, graphics and written posts across platforms.
* Support the technical administration of the website, including user access and liaison with service providers to develop and improve site functionality.
Marketing & Campaign Delivery
* Support the delivery of integrated marketing campaigns and engagement events.
* Coordinate design and print production as needed for campaigns and events.
* Ensure content reflects the SU’s brand and messaging.
* Monitor digital engagement and use insight to inform improvements in content and functionality.
* Create and support targeted student communications through email and other digital tools.
* Keep up to date with digital trends and tools, recommending innovations to improve engagement.
Collaboration & Support
* Work with colleagues, officers, and student groups to deliver content that represents the student voice.
* Support key Union events working closely with staff across teams and create engaging digital content for our events.
* Collaborate with the University to align on campaigns and increase Union visibility.
* Build strong working relationships across the Union, University, and with external partners.
* Provide training and support on digital platforms and tools to Union staff and officers.
* Provide training and support to student groups with their use of the website.
* Supervise and mentor student staff.
General
* To support the development and implementation of relevant policies and procedures within the Union, working closely with the relevant manager and Officer.
* Supporting the relevant democratic structures within the Union.
* Demonstrating that the core principles of the Students’ Union are central to all of their work.
* Supporting the aims and ethos of Undeb Bangor and Bangor University throughout the course of their duties.
* Adhering to and promoting the Union’s Environment and Sustainability policy and helping the organisation to achieve our pledge to lessen our impact on the environment.
* Acting as a public advocate of the organisation, promoting the work of the Students’ Union to external stakeholders in the wider community.
* Willingness to adopt a flexible approach to work hours including evening, weekend and remote working where necessary.

Person Specification
Essential
* Educated to A-Level/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent experience.
* Experience creating content for digital platforms (e.g., social media, video, websites).
* Strong knowledge of CMS, digital tools, and basic design/editing software (e.g., Canva, Adobe).
* Experience supporting or managing website functionality.
* Comfortable working with new technologies and software.
* Organised, proactive, and able to manage workload independently and as part of a team.
* Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
* Confident using IT tools (including MS Office) and new technologies.
* Excellent written and verbal communication in both Welsh and English.
* Willing to work flexibly, including some evenings and weekends where necessary.
Desirable
* Experience working in a Students’ Union, Higher Education, or membership-led organisation.
* Familiar with Google Analytics and using data to improve digital engagement.
* Skilled at co-creating content with students and using insight to shape comms.
