This role of Senior Business Development & Portfolio Analyst sits within the UK Business Planning & Development Team reporting to the Business Development & Portfolio Manager. Working in a fast-moving environment, you will be a key contributor in the design and submission of all Investments, Budgets, Forecasts & Business Plans in relation to new business areas such as Smart Solutions as well as providing support to the wider Liberalised financial projections. In addition to this, this role will play a pinnacle role in reporting of our customer numbers across the Customer Business to ensure consistency and accuracy in both internal and external reporting. What you’ll be doing Support the production of the Smart Solutions 10-Year Business Plan in line with the overall Global Liberalised business strategy, in line with a defined timetable Produce Smart Solutions annual Budget and quarterly Forecasts in line with the overall Global Liberalised business strategy, in line with a defined timetable Develop a deep understanding of margins, costs and profitability within Smart Solutions Support the wider production of the Liberalised Budgets, Forecasts and Business Plan where required Produce outputs and analysis on actual performance against Budgets and Forecasts Ad-hoc analysis in relation to Senior Management requests relating to profitability Prepare weekly customer number reporting for inclusion in the CEO Weekly Report, the Weekly NLS tracker, the SVT hedge position, and monthly Global CEO Report Prepare monthly customer numbers that ensure consistent use across the department Prepare the monthly Reported customer number submission for Contro l Facilitate the production of year end submissions for Internal Control, CSS, Ofgem to ensure consistency and accuracy across the Customer Business What you’ll bring Educated to degree level or equivalent, preferably in a numerate or business-related subject Highly driven and focussed with strong commercial, financial and due diligence skills Proven track record of precision, accuracy and attention to detail essential Ability to work to tight deadlines and within a highly pressurised environment Experience in developing robust financial analysis Highly evolved interpersonal and communication skills and ability to form effective working relationships across all levels of the organisation Ability to build relationships and influence across a wide range of stakeholders Self-motivated with ability to manage time effectively Advanced practical knowledge of IT desktop tools including advanced spreadsheet modelling skills An orientation towards teamwork is essential Minimum Criteria Commercial delivery experience Proven track record of precision, accuracy and attention to detail essential Skilled communicator with effective influencing skills Ability to manage multiple deliverables and remained focussed on priorities and delivery Highly numerate and analytical mindset Advanced practical knowledge of IT desktop tools including advanced spreadsheet modelling skills What’s in it for you As well as a competitive salary which is reviewed annually, you can also enjoy a number of other benefits.
