Role Overview
NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde has an exciting opportunity for a Finance Administrator to join the Property & Capital Planning Department.
The department is responsible for delivering the Board’s capital programme and providing property and asset management services across the NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde estate. The post provides dedicated financial administration support, processing invoices and payments with a high degree of autonomy to ensure compliance with Board financial policies and contract frameworks.
You will manage a varied workload, work flexibly in response to departmental priorities, and operate with sufficient experience and knowledge to act autonomously.
Duration, Location, and Working Pattern
* This is a permanent post working full-time hours (36).
* You will be based at Gartnavel Royal Hospital, G12 0XH.
* The shift pattern is yet to be confirmed.
Key Responsibilities
* Maintaining financial records
* Raising purchase orders
* Resolving supplier and PECOS queries
* Liaising with internal and external stakeholders
* Supporting effective budget monitoring and control
Qualifications and Experience Required
* Educated to degree level or have 5 years previous management experience within NHS or Local Authority.
* Evidence of continuing professional development.
* Good communication skills (both verbal and written).
* The postholder is required to have a clear understanding of the Board’s Standing Financial Instructions, Scheme of Delegation, Data Protection & Confidentiality policies.
* The postholder is required to have a working knowledge of the Retention of Records guidance.
* The postholder should have an in-depth working knowledge of Procurement and Payment systems i.e. Pecos, Cedar and Zendesk.
* The postholder should have an excellent understanding of financial obligations relative to each form of construction contract.
