We are seeking a dedicated Lecturer in Motor Vehicle to join our forward-thinking Automotive Professions department, which is built around a vibrant, real work environment – delivering MOTs, servicing, and repairs to members of the public. As a Lecturer in the Motor Vehicle team, you'll take the lead in delivering high-quality teaching and training to a range of learners, from 16-19-year-olds on full-time study programmes, to apprentices and adult learners on full-cost courses while also embedding English and Maths. You'll play a key role in shaping the future of the local industry by developing skilled, work-ready individuals. Job Title: Lecturer in Motor Vehicles About the Role: Set, mark and record relevant coursework and assessments. Conduct teaching/learning activities appropriate to the needs of individual students, courses, and the curriculum, keeping attendance records and maintaining student discipline. Prepare teaching/learning materials. Continuously evaluate and improve the quality of learning and teaching within your sessions utilising and engaging with the college's development and observation programmes. Contribute to the development of curricula and specialist facilities within the department. Counsel and guide students in respect of their academic progress and, as appropriate, their pastoral concerns and needs and making referrals to specialist services as appropriate. Contributing to student reports and progress reviews. Essential Qualifications: Level 3 qualification or equivalent in vehicle service and repair. Level 5 Teaching Qualification / completing within 3 years of employment or 3 years of the first available course. Evidence of recent CPD Essential Experience: Significant experience of working in industry within a practical motor vehicle environment. Experience of maintaining equipment associated with vehicle service and repair workshops.
