Production Manager
Location: Poole, Dorset
Job Type: Permanent
Salary: Up to £65,000 per annum, depending on experience
Hours: 37.5 hours per week (Mon‑Thu 8:30am–5:00pm, Fri 8:30am–2:00pm)
We are currently recruiting for a Production Manager to join a thriving, privately owned manufacturing business with over 50 years of success in precision engineering. Supplying high‑quality machined components and ancillaries across diverse industrial sectors, where long‑term customer relationships are key.
As Production Manager you will lead a team of approximately 35 staff across the shop floor, production planning, and engineering. You will be the driving force behind operational excellence, continuous improvement, and team development.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and schedule CNC machining operations (turners & millers)
* Drive production targets and manage KPIs
* Maximise efficiency and productivity across manufacturing
* Ensure quality and compliance of all products
* Support new product development and process optimisation
* Champion best practices and continuous improvement initiatives
* Promote a strong health & safety culture
* Recruit, train, and mentor staff
Qualifications and Experience
* Knowledge of CNC machining operations either through management or as an operator
* Proven leadership and staff development experience as a manager or supervisor
* Strong communication and team‑building skills
* Excellent planning and prioritisation abilities
* Good understanding of quality assurance and compliance in manufacturing
