As the Certification Engineering Manager, you will lead a team of certification personnel responsible for the effective management and development of a portfolio of Certification Schemes, delivering high-quality, "right first time" product evaluations, achieving client satisfaction, and meeting commercial targets. Successful execution of these duties will result in increased financial performance for the business, enhanced customer satisfaction, and added value for our clients.
Key activities:
1. Inspire and communicate with teams to clarify direction, provide feedback on performance, and plan for continuous improvement and results achievement.
2. Model Intertek values and set a positive example through professional behavior and leadership.
3. Create and promote a high-performance culture through disciplined performance management, ensuring engineers meet or exceed objectives.
4. Manage P&L of the team to meet revenue and profit targets via effective resource and cost management.
5. Plan workload and activities rigorously to drive operational performance.
6. Represent the company during internal and external certification quality assessments.
7. Recommend issuing, re-issuing, or withdrawing certificates, and report recommendations in accordance with Intertek policies and procedures within prescribed timeframes.
8. Identify new or amended product standards/directives proactively and ensure certification schemes are current and relevant to market needs.
We seek an experienced certification specialist with engineering or science-based qualifications and a strong understanding of certification scheme requirements to lead a team serving clients across the UK.
Qualifications and experience:
* Understanding of various certification scheme types and requirements.
* Experience working in an ISO 17065 accredited environment.
* Knowledge of British, European, and international standards, including but not limited to EN/IEC 60335, EN/IEC 60601, EN/IEC 60598, EN/IEC 61439, EN/IEC 61010, EN/IEC 62368 series.
* Commercial acumen with experience developing client solutions collaboratively.
