We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Procurement Assistant to support the purchasing and supply chain activities within our façade subcontracting business. The role involves assisting in sourcing, ordering, and coordinating materials, components, and services required for façade projects, ensuring timely delivery to meet site programmes while maintaining quality and cost efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist the Procurement Manager with day-to-day purchasing operations for façade systems, including curtain walling, cladding, glazing, insulation, and associated materials.
* Prepare and issue enquiries to suppliers and subcontractors, obtaining competitive quotations.
* Support in evaluating supplier proposals and assisting in negotiation of terms, prices, and lead times.
* Raise purchase orders, track progress, and update procurement schedules.
* Liaise with project managers, design teams, and site managers to ensure procurement aligns with project programmes.
* Monitor supplier performance, reporting delays or issues to the Procurement Manager.
* Maintain accurate records of orders, deliveries, and invoices to support project cost control.
* Assist with administration of procurement documentation, supplier approvals, and compliance records.
* Support the development of supplier relationships and maintain a reliable vendor database.
* Contribute to continuous improvement of procurement processes and supply chain efficiency.
Skills & Experience
* Previous experience in procurement or supply chain administration (construction or façades preferred).
* Strong organisational and time management skills.
* Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
* Knowledge of procurement software or ERP systems is desirable.
* Attention to detail with ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
* Basic understanding of façade systems, construction materials, or subcontractor supply chains is advantageous.
