This role involves more than giving advice; it's about inspiring students from all walks of life – from our main FE cohort to our adult ESOL learners – to confidently navigate their educational and career paths and contribute to transformative success stories. This is a full-time, permanent, year-round position based at Slough & Langley College, with part-time applications also considered. Careers Adviser You'll be at the heart of our students' development, providing impartial and tailored careers information, advice, and guidance. This includes: Empowering Diverse Learners: Delivering one-to-one advice and engaging group workshops to a wide range of students, including vulnerable groups and those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). Shaping Pathways: Supporting students with their career aspirations by organising impactful career talks and developing a range of activities that open doors to new possibilities. Navigating Apprenticeships: Leading engaging workshops to demystify the apprenticeship process, guiding students through the application journey, and highlighting diverse opportunities. Driving Excellence: Contributing to the college's achievement of the 8 Gatsby Benchmarks by ensuring all delivery evidence is complete and compliant with quality standards Creating Opportunities: Collaborating with departments to implement and deliver a comprehensive programme of student careers and employability activities. This includes university visits, HE fairs, Careers Fairs, recruitment and employer workshops, guest speakers, Skills Weeks, and internal progression days.
