The Assignment:
Digisourced is representing a global Energy leader seeking a high caliber Project Cost Controller to drive the financial integrity of a major HVDC (High Voltage Direct Current) infrastructure project.
This isn't just a reporting role; you will be the primary engine for Cost Engineering and Financial Control within the HVDC scope.
You will be tasked with protecting the project's margin, identifying cost variances before they impact the bottom line, and ensuring that every pound of spend is accounted for against the "as-sold" position.
You will work in lockstep with the Lead Project Controls to maintain a rigorous "on-budget" culture across the UK and European project lifecycle.
Core Cost Control Responsibilities:
Budget Lifecycle Management: Own and maintain the "Cost to Complete" (CTC) budgets. Ensure all financial parameters remain aligned with the original contract award and approved variations.
Forecasting & Variance Analysis: Drive monthly forecast cycles. Verify the accuracy of "Actual to Date" costs including complex variables: offshore/onshore labor, specialized materials, vendor invoices, and travel expenses.
Cost/Schedule Integration: Collaborate with the Planning team to ensure costs are accurately time-phased. You will be responsible for ensuring that the "Earned Value" aligns with the physical progress of the HVDC installation.
Risk & Mitigation: Capture and quantify financial risks and opportunities. You will drive cost-out initiatives and support budget holders in mitigating overspends through data-driven insights.
Financial Transparency: Present granular cost status reports and root-cause analyses of budget deviations during management reviews.
Technical Requirements & Experience:
EPC Project Environment: Minimum 1+ years of experience working within Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) frameworks.
HVDC Sector Knowledge: Specific exposure to High Voltage Direct Current or large-scale power transmission projects.
Specialized Cost Control: 1+ years of dedicated experience in cost controlling for multi-million pound turnkey projects.
Systems & Tools: Expert-level proficiency in SAP (or similar Tier-1 ERP) and a strong grasp of risk management software.
Planning Awareness: A functional understanding of Primavera P6 to ensure cost-loading and schedule alignment are synchronized.
Compliance & Assignment Details:
Role Type: Contract / Temporary Assignment.
Duration: 6–12 Months (Initial) + potential extensions.
Transparency (KID): In accordance with industry regulations, a Key Information Document (KID) will be provided to all candidates prior to engagement. This ensures full transparency regarding pay rates, statutory deductions, and net take-home estimates.
Location Flexibility: Based out of the Stafford hub on a hybrid basis (typically 2 days onsite).
