The Role We are seeking an experienced Surveyor to support our Planned Programme, overseeing the successful delivery of large-scale, multi-year projects and contracts. These include initiatives linked to Decent Homes, Decarbonisation, and Retrofit works. You will ensure housing assets are improved in line with agreed standards and meet all regulatory and compliance requirements, including Homes Englands Decent Homes Standard. Acting as a technical expert, you will lead on budgetary control, contract management, and service delivery, ensuring excellent customer outcomes, value for money, and high-quality performance. You will also provide professional building and investment advice, supporting senior managers with technical insight and informed decision-making. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage planned investment programmes and capital works projects valued at £1m Oversee budget control, contract coordination, administration, and performance management Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and best practice Identify, manage, and mitigate project and financial risks Act as the organisations technical expert on asset management, property investment, and building-related matters Communicate complex technical information clearly to a wide range of stakeholders Promote collaboration and positive problem-solving across teams Ensure services deliver customer satisfaction, agreed standards, and demonstrable value for money About You Were looking for a proactive and experienced professional who brings both technical expertise and strong project leadership skills. You will: Hold a relevant technical qualification, such as: Member of CIOB Intermediate grade RICS Member of the Chartered Institute of Housing Have substantial experience in asset management, property investment, and public procurement Demonstrate a proven track record of successfully managing large-scale planned improvement projects and contracts Be confident making sound financial and investment judgements Be comfortable managing complex projects within tight deadlines and budgets Communicate technical information clearly to varied audiences Work collaboratively, taking responsibility for effective communication and supporting colleagues Hold a valid driving licence and have access to a car for travel across the city and surrounding areas Interested?
