Birmingham City Council is seeking a dedicated Senior Practitioner to join our Early Interventionmunity Team (EICT). This team was established in 2018 following a Care Qualitymission (CQC) review and system-wide diagnostic of health and social care provision for older people in Birmingham.
Your new role
As a Senior Practitioner, you will play a pivotal role in managingplex caseloads and supporting social care workers within your cluster. You will provide supervision, coaching, and leadership to ensure high-quality practice and improved oues for adults.Your responsibilities include:
1. Supervising and overseeing the management of your cluster and promoting a One Team approach.
2. Supporting staff through regular supervision and coaching to drive performance and quality.
3. Managingplex cases, safeguarding, MCA, and Best Interests decision-making.
4. Conducting case file audits and promoting shared learning and continuous improvement.
5. Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, alongside health professionals, therapy nurses, and carers.
6. Driving culture change to enable the workforce to own and improve their performance.
What you'll need to succeed
7. Recognised Social Work qualification (MA/BA/ in Social Work, Diploma in Social Work, or CQSW).
8. Registration with Social Work England.
9. Minimum of 2 years post-qualifying experience.
10. Strong knowledge of the Care Act 2014, safeguarding, MCA, and Best Interests processes.
11. Experience in supervising staff or transferable leadership skills.
