ROLE TITLE: eFoiler Manufacturing Manager
REPORTING LINE: The eFoiler Manufacturing Manager will report to the eFoiler Production Director.
Departmental Overview
The Manufacturing Department within Artemis Technologies is responsible for ensuring the on-time and on-cost of parts supplied to build the eFoilerTM and its systems. Working with the Design Team and Manufacturing Engineers to develop efficient and practical processes for building eFoilers and supporting components.
The Role
Reporting to the eFoiler Production Director, the eFoiler Manufacturing Manager will be responsible for leading a multi-functional value team in the delivery of composite and metallic assemblies to cost, quality and schedule targets. The eFoiler Manufacturing Manager will be expected to work closely with support functions such as Manufacturing Engineering, Procurement and the On Water Operations Team in the integration of manufacturing deliverables into the vessels and to play a key role in the growth journey of the Manufacturing function as it expands and develops in the next number of years.
Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities
* Work with the wider team in the development and delivery of industrialisation strategies for Manufacturing.
* Line Management responsibility for eFoiler Manufacturing Function and associated reports - direct labour of up to 100 team members and associated management responsibility as the business grows.
* Building Health and Safety culture to create a safe workplace and to develop the necessary supporting behaviours.
* Performance management of eFoiler Manufacturing including the creation and implementation of development plans for Operational Lead(s) and Team Leads.
* Day to day resource management and work planning.
* Day to day co-ordination of the support functions in the value stream to ensure successful delivery of cost, schedule and quality targets.
* Day to day governance to ensure the efficient running of eFoiler Manufacturing - for example, Visual Management and Production meetings.
* Delivery of agreed KPI’s for the function based on HS&E, cost, schedule and quality.
* Co-ordinate continuous improvement of the production process utilising lean and 5S methodologies.
* In association with the people team manage the direct labour hiring process for the eFoiler Manufacturing Team.
* Other management tasks as required on occasion that align with the individual's training and experience.
Knowledge And Specialist Skills
Education/Qualifications and Experience:
* University degree or equivalent experience in a relevant discipline.
Key Skills Required
* Demonstrated experience in keeping people safe through deployment of good HS&E practice.
* Demonstrated experience in transformational environments – these can include growth, startup or general transformation associated with major new production introductions.
* Experienced with continuous improvement and LEAN manufacturing methods.
* Experienced people manager, with strong leadership skills.
* Experience in Managing a team within a manufacturing or assembly environment.
* Self-motivated with proven problem-solving ability.
* Good communicator, written and oral.
* Able to organise themselves and others.
* Ability to work and make decisions under pressure.
* Able to meet tight deadlines.
* Self-motivated with the ability to work in a team.
* Excellent time keeping skills.
* Ability to understand and interpret technical documentation.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Experience with MS Office.
Preferred
* Working knowledge of LEAN and 5S methodology.
* Experience in composites manufacturing and assembly.
* Experience of working in a low volume high complexity manufacturing environment.
* Experience of working in startup or high growth situations.
* Experience of working in a New Product Introduction.
General Skills Required
* Good IT skills, Spreadsheets, Presentation software, Email Communication.
* Full understanding of the standard operating procedures and work instructions for the role.
* Ability to read Engineering Drawings/Manuals of a high standard.
* To set a high level of housekeeping to 5S standard within the factory.
* To Comply with Health and safety policies at all times whilst in the workplace.
* Exercise absolute integrity in respect of confidential matters.
