Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting our kitchen operations, ensuring that food preparation and meal service run smoothly. This position is perfect for individuals who are passionate about food, enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, and are eager to learn more about the culinary arts.
Responsibilities
* Assist in the preparation of ingredients for cooking and meal assembly.
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including washing dishes and utensils.
* Support chefs and cooks in various tasks, including food preparation and catering services.
* Ensure compliance with food safety standards and hygiene regulations.
* Help with the setup and breakdown of kitchen equipment during events or service periods.
* Assist in inventory management by checking stock levels and reporting shortages.
* Participate in training sessions to enhance culinary skills and knowledge of food safety.
* support the chef at the sister site, and transporting the food to Butterfly Blue
Requirements
* Previous experience in a kitchen environment is advantageous but not essential; a willingness to learn is key.
* Basic understanding of food safety practices and regulations.
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a busy restaurant or catering setting.
* Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
* Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions accurately.
* Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as required.
* A genuine interest in culinary arts and meal preparation.
