Accounts Receivable Specalist
Location: Swansea (close to the M4)
Salary: £35,000 - £40,000
Reporting to: Head of Finance / Finance Director
The Role
Our client, a globally recognised brand, is looking for a proactive Accounts Receivable Manager to lead a team of four. This role is not just about managing day-to-day AR operations - it's about shaping and improving processes, driving efficiency, and influencing how the function supports the wider business. You'll take ownership of the end-to-end AR cycle, mentor your team, and work closely with colleagues across Finance, Sales, and Customer Service. We're looking for someone who is confident in their expertise and ready to bring in their own ideas and processes to enhance performance and deliver measurable results.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead, coach, and develop a team of 4 Accounts Receivable professionals
2. Manage the end-to-end accounts receivable process, including billing, collections, cash allocation, and dispute resolution
3. Proactively manage aged debt, driving improvements in DSO and overall cash flow
4. Build strong working relationships with internal stakeholders (Sales, Customer Service, Finance) and external customers
5. Own and enhance AR policies, procedures, and internal controls
6. Produce regular AR reporting, KPIs, and cash flow forecasts for senior management
7. Support month-end close activities and ensure compliance with accounting standards
8. Drive process improvements, systems optimisation, and automation initiatives
About You
9. Proven experience in an Accounts Receivable leadership or management role
10. Demonstrable people management experience, ideally leading a small to mid-sized team
11. Strong technical understanding of AR, credit control, and cash flow management
12. Confident communicator with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels
13. Highly organised, analytical, and solutions-focused
14. Experience working with ERP systems and strong Excel skills
15. Relevant finance or accounting qualification (e.g. ACCA, CIMA, CPA) desirable but not essential
