About the role:
Sage Homes are looking for an Accounts Receivable Assistant to join our finance team. This role will support our existing Revenue Accountants and work alongside the wider team in delivering across all areas of our rents processes.
The role is based in our Northampton office with hybrid working arrangements of 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home if required.
Duties include:
* Assisting in the maintenance of rent ledger and posting rent journals to general ledger
* Liaising with local authorities and third parties to identify payments
* Supporting the Rent Accountants in servicing Rent email inbox, dealing with queries and processing housing benefit schedules
* Responsible for processing ad-hoc tenant related payments
* Supporting the Rent Accountants in posting and reviewing Net Operating Income (NOI) P&L lines relating to rent and service charge income
* Liaison with operational teams to investigate failed Direct Debit payments
* Maintains monthly balance sheet reconciliations for review by Rent Accountants
* Liaison with rent setting team to investigate variances in draft debit run processes
* Assisting in the maintenance of Shared Ownership Direct Debit payment file to ensure correct rents captured from tenants, as well as maintaining and reconciling cash book entries
* Supporting the Rent team in the year-end statutory accounts production and audit process
* Responding to ad hoc requests as required
* General Rent Team related administrative tasks as required
About you:
* Previous experience in an accounts role is essential
* Proactive with strong attention to detail to ensure a high degree of accuracy
* Experience of maintaining rent ledgers and cashbooks preferred
* Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
* Property sector experience would be advantageous
* Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Qualifications:
* AAT or equivalent and keen to become fully qualified CIMA/ACCA - study support is available.
