Birmingham City Council is offering an opportunity to join their dedicated environmental services team based at College Road, Kingstanding. As one of the UK’s largest local authorities, the Council ismitted to maintaining clean, safe, and well-managedmunities across the city. This role plays a key part in supporting that mission through direct engagement with residents and estate management.
Your new role
This is a full-time position offered on an initial three-month contract with the potential for extension. Working hours are typically around 8am to 4pm, though some flexibility will be required. The successful candidate will be responsible for investigating waste-related anti-social behaviour, responding to tenantplaints, and conducting site visits across housing estates. Duties include managing service tickets related to fly tipping and other environmental offences, liaising with internal Council teams, and occasionally assisting with litter picking when needed. Interviews will be held in person at the office.
What you'll need to succeed
An Enhanced DBS is essential for this role, and having access to a vehicle is preferred due to the nature of the work. Candidates should have a strong understanding of social housing investigation andmunity engagement, along with the ability to work independently andmunicate effectively with both residents and colleagues.
