Digital Planning Improvement Officer £26,403 -£28,142 per annum Scale 4. 37 hrs per week. 12-month contract An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our forward‑thinking and highly motivated Development Management Team as a Digital Planning Improvement Officer. In this role, you will be responsible for reviewing and enhancing existing GIS data sets to ensure the availability of high‑quality information for both corporate and public use. Working closely with our team of technical system specialists, you will also update our Local Street Gazetteer, capturing key street-level assets across the Borough—such as gritting routes—and ensuring their accuracy and completeness. In addition, you will compare and refine BLPU (Basic Land and Property Units) and compare then to Building Control records to support the delivery of a robust spatial data set that underpins both Building Control and Planning Services. This role will be hybrid working, working from home and at our offices across the Borough when required. The role is based in Telford, a vibrant and growing destination where people love to live, work, and enjoy life. You will be expected to: Have proven experience of using ARC GIS and be confident and accurate with gathering, interrogating and recording data. Have some knowledge of British Standard 7666 Have excellent attention to detail, analytical thinking, and methodical documentation. Strong communication skills for cross-team collaboration and evidence gathering Be organised with good project and time management skills.
