We are looking to strengthen our Construction team with a Mechanical Site Supervisor based within the Southern Water Hampshire Region.
You will report directly to the M & E Manager/Lead Site Supervisor, and your role will supervise and control all mechanical site activities in the most efficient manner, adhering to specifications and completing work within the contract timeframe, without compromising health and safety. You will ensure a quality end product by overseeing the installation process and ensuring all Inspection Test Plans (ITPs) are completed as work progresses.
Key responsibilities will include:
* Supervising site mechanical installations and testing
* Ensuring mechanical safety rules are adhered to, with supporting documentation produced in line with CMDP mechanical safety rules
* Supporting the Site Manager in maintaining a safe working environment for all employees, supply chain partners, and visitors
* Ensuring all relevant construction and safety documents are correctly recorded, reviewed, and up-to-date
* Checking that method statements adequately describe the work to be carried out
* Reviewing and commenting on Method Statements and Work Instructions as required by the Project Execution Plan
* Recording the progress of works
* Documenting non-conformance and improvement opportunities, and coordinating actions with the person in charge of the works
* Maintaining quality standards in accordance with CMDP, Client, and industry standards
* Attending site inductions and toolbox talks as required
* Carrying out scheduled and unscheduled safety inspections on all equipment
Knowledge/Experience: Several years of experience working in the Water/Wastewater sector, with understanding of mechanical and pipework fabrication, erection, and testing, including pressure and hydrostatic testing where necessary. Experience with Isometric, GA, and P&ID drawings.
Education/Qualifications: HNC / HND in Mechanical Engineering or recognized apprenticeship with relevant experience; SSSTS, CSCS, First Aider; Mechanical and Pressure Systems APMPS qualification (desirable).
