Fowey Hall Hotel, nestled on the breathtaking Cornish coast, is a luxurious haven of charm. Steeped in history and surrounded by stunning landscapes, our hotel has become synonymous with excellence in natural hospitality. We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Head Housekeeper to join the team at Fowey Hall, ensuring that our guests experience the epitome of comfort and cleanliness during their stay.
Position Overview
As Deputy Head Housekeeper, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Head Housekeeper to oversee the daily operations of our housekeeping department. You will ensure the highest standards of service, contributing to the overall success of Fowey Hall Hotel. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in housekeeping in a supervisory capacity, a passion for delivering outstanding customer service, and the ability to lead a team to success.
This is a permanent role, at 35 hours per week over 5 days (including weekends), with an annual salary of £27,259, plus generous service charge and a brilliant benefits package.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist the Head Housekeeper in managing and supervising the housekeeping team, ensuring they adhere to the hotel's standards and procedures.
* Oversee the cleaning and maintenance of guest rooms, public areas, and back‑of‑house spaces to ensure they are immaculately presented.
* Train and mentor housekeeping staff, providing guidance on best practices, health and safety and customer service.
* Conduct regular inspections to ensure quality control and compliance with health and safety regulations.
* Collaborate with the Head Housekeeper to develop and implement innovative initiatives to enhance the guest experience and streamline operations.
Qualifications
* Previous experience in a supervisory role within a housekeeping department within a luxury 4 or 5‑star hotel.
* Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
* Knowledge of housekeeping and maintenance procedures, health and safety regulations.
* Experience managing rotas and payroll and some experience in ordering and managing stock.
* Exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills, working to tight timeframes and enjoying a physical job role.
