About the Role
As Art Teacher, you will deliver engaging and inspiring lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with potential opportunities to teach Key Stage 5 depending on experience. You will encourage pupils to explore their creativity while developing strong technical and analytical skills in Art and Design.
Key responsibilities include:
* Planning and delivering high-quality Art lessons across KS3 and KS4
* Teaching a range of artistic techniques including drawing, painting, and mixed media
* Encouraging creativity, experimentation, and independent artistic expression
* Assessing pupil work and providing constructive feedback to support improvement
* Supporting pupils of varying abilities through differentiated teaching strategies
* Contributing to departmental planning and curriculum development
* Supporting extracurricular activities such as art clubs, exhibitions, and creative projects
Experience and Skills
The successful candidate will:
* Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification
* Have strong subject knowledge in Art and Design
* Demonstrate creativity and enthusiasm in teaching
* Be able to motivate and engage pupils of varying abilities
* Possess excellent classroom management and communication skills
* Be committed to supporting pupils’ creative and academic development
