Overview
Group Head of Compliance – Avencia Talent Solutions (London, UK). This senior executive role leads the global compliance strategy and framework across the UK, Europe, and other global locations.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and execute a cohesive global compliance strategy that ensures adherence to regulatory requirements across multiple jurisdictions, including the UK (Lloyd’s, PRA, FCA) and Europe.
* Monitor international regulatory developments and advise leadership on emerging risks, trends, and obligations.
* Act as the primary senior contact for global regulatory bodies, international industry groups, and market associations, building strong and transparent relationships.
* Design, implement, and maintain a robust global compliance framework tailored to a multi-jurisdictional managing agency environment.
* Establish, review, and enforce compliance policies and procedures that align with corporate strategy, risk appetite, and regulatory standards across all regions.
* Provide strategic compliance guidance and deliver training to senior leaders and teams globally, driving a unified compliance culture.
* Champion high standards of corporate governance, ethical conduct, and accountability across all international operations.
* Advise the Board and executive leadership on governance structures, controls, and processes that support sustainable global growth.
* Support work closely with Underwriting, Claims, Finance, Legal, Operations and other functions globally to ensure an aligned approach to compliance and regulatory risk management.
* Support international business development initiatives, providing compliance insight on new products, territories, partnerships and distribution channels.
Qualifications
* 10+ years of senior compliance experience within the insurance industry, with extensive knowledge of Lloyd’s of London and UK regulatory framework.
* Demonstrated experience leading compliance functions across multiple regions or complex regulatory environments.
* Strong familiarity with regulatory interactions in the UK (PRA, FCA) and exposure to European and other international regulatory regimes.
* Proven leadership experience, with the ability to build, motivate, and develop high-performing, geographically dispersed teams.
* Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills, able to influence stakeholders at all levels—including Board members, executives, and external regulators.
* Strategic and analytical mindset, with the ability to interpret and operationalise complex regulatory requirements across diverse markets.
* Commercially astute, with the ability to balance regulatory demands with business growth objectives.
