Job Description Summary
The GEV Electrification Systems Circularity Manager will lead the implementation and optimization of circular economy principles within GEV's electrification systems. This role requires a strategic leader who can translate GEV's 4R framework (Rethink, Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) into actionable initiatives across product design, manufacturing processes, and end‑of‑life management. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong execution capabilities, stakeholder influence, and the ability to drive measurable sustainability outcomes aligned with GEV's circularity targets.
Key Responsibilities
* Rethink
o Drive eco‑design initiatives and integrate sustainable materials into product development (NPI, NTI, and related checklists).
o Harmonize Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) programs across ESY for priority products.
o Develop and execute the 2030 sustainable materials long‑term strategy with clear milestones and deliverables.
o Develop and deliver training programs to educate employees on circular economy principles and practices.
* Reduce
o Develop and implement circular manufacturing strategies with measurable waste reduction targets.
o Execute projects that optimize material usage and manufacturing efficiency.
* Reuse
o Consolidate and harmonize life extension and optimization services across product lines.
o Establish reuse protocols for components and materials within the product lifecycle.
o Create value propositions for customers through extended product life services.
* Recycle
o Design and implement end‑of‑life (EoL) solutions and services that maximize product recyclability.
o Enable strategic partnerships with suppliers and recycling partners to enhance capabilities.
o Establish closed‑loop systems where technically and economically feasible.
* Product Stewardship & Compliance Leadership
o Own the Product Stewardship and Circularity program, ensuring regulatory compliance (particularly EU regulations) and achievement of circularity goals.
o Implement and maintain GEV Enterprise Standards for sustainable materials and circularity practices.
o Establish robust monitoring systems and report progress using GEV metrics aligned with the sustainability digital technology roadmap.
o Manage pollutant tracking and mitigation programs.
o Lead the circularity governance.
Qualifications
* Education:
o Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
o Master’s degree preferred.
* Experience:
o Minimum of 7 years in circular economy or product lifecycle management.
o Experience in the energy or manufacturing sector is highly desirable.
* Skills:
o Strong understanding of circular economy principles, the GEV 4R framework and leading circularity regulations (i.e.: EU).
o Proficiency in LCAs and EPDs.
o Excellent project management and stakeholder engagement skills.
o Strong execution & influencing capabilities.
o Knowledge of Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
