We have an exciting opportunity for a full‑time permanent Social Worker in the Strengthening Independence Service's Disabled Children’s Team covering West Kent 1.
The team works hybrid but encourages access to the office each week so team members can share ideas and support each other. The role covers a wide geographical area and requires the ability to work flexibly across the whole area.
We offer an extensive training and development programme, regular supervision, and support to further develop your knowledge and skills.
Responsibilities
* Work with disabled children and young people aged 0–17 to support them in progressing towards independence.
* Gain experience in work with Children in Need, Court applications, Children in Care and Child Protection.
* Collaborate with other professionals to develop plans that meet identified care and support needs.
* Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date records using appropriate IT systems.
* Deliver high‑quality service to disabled children, young people, families and carers with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Qualifications and Experience
* Degree in Social Work (CQSW, DipSW or equivalent).
* Registered with Social Work England.
* Post‑qualification experience working with children and/or adults and their families.
* Experience in Children’s Services is essential.
* Enhanced Disclosure application to the Disclosure and Barring Service and registration as a qualified Social Worker with Social Work England.
* Full UK Driving Licence (the Council will consider applications from those unable to drive due to a disability).
* Command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for effective performance of the job (as per Immigration Act Part 7).
