Job Description:
A FTSE100 chemicals company, whose mission is to harness science to enhance lives, is seeking an External Communications Manager. With over 5,000 employees globally, they focus on developing and producing innovative ingredients for Pharmaceutical, Agrochemical, Cosmetic, and Personal Care markets. The successful candidate will join their corporate team based in East Yorkshire. Reporting to the Director of Investor Relations and Corporate Affairs, you will lead the external communications capability, help shape the function and strategy, and have one direct report. Candidates should have experience in corporate reporting / FTSE listed companies. The company is known for high sustainability innovation, and you will work in a fascinating and fast-growing sector.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the implementation of a global communications strategy.
* Joint responsibility for the delivery of corporate reporting, integrating financial and non-financial results.
* Manage daily operations of a press office.
* Train senior stakeholders and act as the Company spokesperson.
* Lead communications support for Group-level crises.
* Develop and maintain relationships with external agencies to maximize their value.
* Create compelling content to promote the company’s brand and purpose through key corporate channels.
* Lead cross-functional teams to define, plan, and deliver sustainability and innovation communications.
* Oversee website and social media projects with the Digital team, managing daily corporate content delivery.
* Prior experience in external communications within a publicly traded, global organization.
* Ability to develop a corporate communication strategy aligned with company values and vision within a multi-brand organization.
* Experience in corporate reporting, including integrating non-financial information demonstrating sustainability leadership.
* Background in crisis communication management and risk mitigation.
* Excellent leadership skills to coach, develop teams, and influence cross-functional teams within a matrix organization.
* Strong project and change management skills. A creative, collaborative, and progressive thinker capable of working across a complex global organization and engaging at all levels.
