The Role
As a Technical Publications Engineer, you will ensure QinetiQ delivers documentation of the highest standard for the Aviation Engineering Centre’s integration tasks. You will develop and maintain our Technical Publications capability, driving cultural change in engineering delivery and applying thought leadership and lean methods to meet growth targets.
Responsibilities
- Support multi‑disciplinary teams to develop and deliver Technical Publications for each project
- Establish and maintain professional relationships with the Project Management Organisation (PMO) functions
- Assist teams in generating concepts and proposals and producing clear solutions and bids through Solution Technical Delivery Plans
- Uplift and sustain the quality of execution and output through Continuing Improvement
- Promote a culture of due diligence throughout execution and output to maintain compliance with quality and regulatory obligations
Essential Experience
- Recognised as a time‑served Technical Publications Engineer/Leader with strong aerospace documentation background
- Able to apply internal and external business factors to influence decision‑making
- Capable of working independently and providing guidance on tasks of varied complexity
- Professional and assertive communicator, able to conduct formal reviews of technical publications documents and tasks
- Knowledge of wider aviation industry practice and general engineering best practice enabling cultural shifts
- Highly experienced in technical publications, ideally for both military and civil platforms through personal delivery in the field
Essential Qualifications
- HNC/HND/Degree in an appropriate engineering subject coupled with commensurate experience in technical publications
- Typically 8+ years of in‑depth and extensive experience in technical publications and development of technical publications documents for aerospace applications
