The role
Description Business Support Officers - Ref: CH03126 G5: £28,598 - £31,022 per annum Permanent and Fixed-term (Until March 2027) posts available. We are looking for enthusiastic, experienced Business Support Officers with a 'can do' approach, to provide a wide range of complex administration and business support activities to our Children and Adult Services professionals. Activities will include (but not limited to) financial transactions, formatting documents, scanning and uploading information to the client system, creating and maintaining excel spreadsheets and producing presentations. The role can at times involve dealing with sensitive, highly confidential and on occasion distressing information. The posts are fully office based within one of the Children’s Services buildings across the borough of Walsall. The successful candidate(s) will be expected to cover at other offices as and when required. Some posts are based at multiple offices. For posts supporting our Social Care team, the Candidates MUST HAVE proven excellent minute taking skills, taking minutes directly onto laptop and completing workbooks in meetings or experience of work. Or an understanding of SEND for the post based within that area. The role also requires reception and telephone cover. Our offices are very busy, fast paced and deal with a multitude of visitors of all ages, as such the role requires the postholder to be very customer focussed, professional, friendly and a desire to help and take ownership of queries to ensure family, children and young people are supported. Excellent knowledge of MS Office systems is essential and a minimum education standard of GCSE in English and Maths Grade A-C (or equivalent) is required. Experience of working in a Children’s or Adults Services environment would be an advantage but not essential.
