We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Catering assistant to assist with the daily operations of our deli canteen. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring excellent customer service, maintaining food safety standards, and assisting with driving overall business performance. This role requires strong attention to detail and a passion for hospitality. You will be the key point of contact for customers and ensure that every customer has a positive experience. A successful candidate will have prior experience within the food and beverage industry, excellent communication skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. This is a hands-on role that requires flexibility, problem-solving abilities, and a proactive approach to managing both people and processes. Your Schedule: 21 hours per week across 5 days (times to be agreed)
Your Responsibilities as a Catering Assistant:
* Assist / run daily café operations
* Ensure high standards of customer service are maintained
* Manage inventory and place orders for supplies
* Handle customer complaints and resolve issues promptly
* Monitor food safety and hygiene standards
* Collaborate with management on marketing and promotions
* Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café
* Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
Requirements:
* Proven experience in food preparation and service
* Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
* Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices
* Ability to multitask and work under pressure
* Customer-focused mindset with problem-solving skills
* Basic math and computer literacy
* Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays
